There Is a Reason for Infertility

Many wonderful people crave to have children and can’t figure out why it just isn’t happening. Knowing the reason for infertility problems can help you to decide what your next step is going to be. There are many common causes for infertility and one of these reasons could be the reason for not being able to conceive.

The Most Common Causes for Infertility in Men

Infertility does not have to take place within the woman’s body and can take place within the male reproductive system. Figuring out who has the reason for infertility should be the first step in the treatment process and can mean the difference between being successful. Infertility can be caused by one factor or a combination of more than one.

In men the most common reason for infertility is a problem with their sperm. Sperm problems involve areas such as the amount of sperm, quality and the lifespan of the sperm. The male may be producing sperm, but not making enough sperm. The sperm may also have too short of a lifespan and may not be viable before they have sexual intercourse.

Another complication and reason for infertility are problems with the way the sperm is delivered. In many cases, the sperm is malformed and will not be able to live before they reach the egg for fertilization or the male may have erectile dysfunction, ejaculation issues or blockages in the ejaculatory ducts.

The Most Common Causes for Infertility in Women

When it comes down to a reason for infertility with women, the most common reason for infertility is a disorder found in ovulation. This problem will prevent the development of a viable egg and can include a blockage of the fallopian tubes. This can be caused by endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, adhesions and scarring or poor amounts of ovarian reserves. Ovarian failure is usually caused by aging but an also be caused by other factors. Often times it can be a defect in the female anatomy that restricts the movement of the egg into the uterus or keeps the egg from being implanted.

Many factors can be involved as a reason for infertility and you will need to go to a doctor to find out what those factors are. The best option out there for you if you have been having troubles conceiving is going to a doctor who specializes in couples who are dealing with infertility.
